The film features a team of legendary US kayakers who make a perilous, 19-day descent of the unmapped Paucartambo River in Peru, which flows from the Andes to the Amazon Basin. The river drops 13,000 feet over 250 miles. At the time it was the greatest sustained vertical drop achieved in kayaking history. We self-supported, carrying all our gear in the backs of our kayaks.
