Back Story:

Meet the inspiration behind the world’s first limited edition high float rescue vest.

Benny Marr, one of the world’s most renowned whitewater kayakers, and Anna Kai, a PNW based artist, originally connected through a mutual appreciation for water, its lines, flow and the magic it brings to both of their lives.

Benny’s life has drawn much inspiration from the books and writings by Richard Bach, Benjamin Hoff, and Bruce Lee. Using these book’s concepts of flow, Anna created a physical painting of one of Benny’s favorite waves using colors inspired by the Futa. Astral was able to translate this painting directly to the fabric of this lifejacket, so you're seeing the actual painting translated onto the fabric of the  jacket. Benny and Anna then built layers and nuggets of meaning on top of the painting – childhood toys, pure wonder, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Bren and flying cars to name a few. Step into a world of Perspective that comes from a life lived in pursuit of play, discovery and flow.
