Discover the gold standard WFR certification with Cordillera! Now widely
considered the standard across the board for search & rescue teams, outdoor
guides, and recreational enthusiasts, the WFR certification is essential if you plan
on spending any significant time in remote areas where supplies and resources
are limited.

For many, their WFR course stands out as a formative experience in
their lives. We try to create that experience for every one of our students, and by
the end of the class you'll leave with a whole new perspective on how to
approach backcountry emergencies. From jellyfish stings to pneumothorax, we
cover it all and exceed most standards required by EMT's in a densely packed 8
days. We customize every course to meet your needs, so course formats vary
widely.

WFR course will flow as follows:

Day 1: Introductions, patient assessment system, BLS skills
Day 2: Trauma-related injuries, primary body systems
Day 3: Wounds, splinting, additional skills practice & simulations
Day 4: Medical patient assessment, patient transport, heat/ cold illness
Day 5: Lightning, altitude, drowning, toxins, bites, stings, etc.
Day 6: Documentation, evacuation, more complex scenarios, further skill
development
Day 7: Testing (Written/ Psychomotor)
Day 8: Exam review, additional special topics, psychological first aid, continuing
education, course wrap-up

Make no mistake about it, this course is demanding. Be prepared to be
"bloody", dirty, and work hard throughout the course. Students
often have to put in additional hours between class days. By the end, you'll know
why getting a WFR certification from Cordillera means a little more.
