Stop the Bleed - Thurs, Oct 24th / 6-8PM
TRAINING INCLUDES:
- Taught in accordance with the "Stop the Bleed"
initiative by the US Department of Defense, this course covers: - Prioritizing life-threatening bleeding
- How to perform a patient assessment
- Learning about the circulatory system & its functions
- How & when to apply direct pressure, tourniquets, wound
packing, & pressure bandages
CPR CERTIFICATION - Thurs, Nov 21st / 6-8PM
TRAINING INCLUDES:
- All Cordillera CPR courses are taught using biofeedback manikins, which
help us provide the highest quality CPR training available on the market today.
Our certifications are provided by American Safety & Health Institute, which meet
all OSHA workplace safety requirements and AHA standards for healthcare
providers. *OSHA/ AHA compliant certification
- Providing high-quality chest compressions
- How to properly ventilate a patient
- Effective use of an AED
- Considerations for children, infants, and other unique patient populations
- Perform life-saving interventions for a choking patient
- Strategies for providing CPR in various wilderness settings
- Customized training exercises that incorporate realistic medical simulations
TECHNICAL RESCUE CLINIC - Thurs, Feb 6th / 6-8PM
TRAINING INCLUDES:
- Certifications provided by the American Canoe Association
- Pre-trip planning and essential equipment
- River literacy, effective communication/signals
- Whitewater swimming practice & drills
- Throw bag techniques
- Wading/shallow water crossings, foot entrapment
- Knots, anchors, mechanical advantage, boat pins
- Raft rigging, flip drills
- Zip-line crossings, more complex rescue scenarios
