#quinnspond Tweets June, 2017 test results indicated high levels of E. coli bacteria in Quinn's Pond and the ponds at Esther Simplot Park.According to experts in the science of water borne bacteria, the only way E. coli can make you sick is through oral ingestion. According to plasmidology experts, the contamination likely originates from a multitude of possible sources, including: human waste, bird droppings, run-off, or even naturally occurring E. coli present in the soil. Reported May 11th by Dale Keys  We headed up to run the South Fork Boise today at 8500 CFS.  A group that ran it yesterday sent us a photo of a log to look out for (LogMay10) that would be fairly easy to miss. We hiked out across the mesa above Neal Bridge to get a look at it on the way up and there was a new strainer (LogMay11) all the way across the river.This is about a mile below Buffalo Creek. Boise Parks & Recreation and McMillan Jacobs Associates held an open house on November 2, 2016 to discuss the updated design of Phase II of the Boise Whitewater Park. Also in attendance was Scott Shipley of S2O Design. The original conceptual design was presented in 2014. The concept plan outlined in-river construction and replacement of the Farmers Union Canal diversion downriver from the pedestrian bridge below the existing Phase 1 Harry Morrison Dam and our surf/kayak waveshapers. Idaho River Sports is kicking off their 30th anniversary celebration in May with fun events and a first look at the improvements to the shop, Quinn's Pond, new Greenbelt spur, and a peek at the new Esther Simplot Park. IRS has also added a new rental shop building, a patio and more.
